Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI AMR) : nuovo bando sulle dinamiche di trasmissione

Con l'obiettivo di affrontare le principali sfide mediche e sociali dalla nostra società, è stato pubblicato il terzo bando della Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI AMR), cofinanziato dalla Commissione europea tramito lo schema ERA-NET.

Il focus della call è: "To unravel the dynamics of transmission and selection of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) at the genetic, bacterial, animal, human, societal, and environmental levels, in order to design and evaluate preventive and intervening measures for controlling resistance".

Il bando prevede due topic:

1. To understand the acquisition, persistence/ retention, and transmission of resistant organisms and resistance genes, research should investigate:

• Selection of resistance and its transmission between individuals and between human and non-human sources
• The success of clones, organisms, and resistance patterns and the role of different genetic elements.
• The fitness of the resistant bacteria in clinical, community, veterinary, and environmental settings.

2. In order to identify and target better prevention measures and management practices to control resistance, research in the following areas are needed:

• Quantitative multilevel modelling to understand the dissemination of AMR between different environments
• Risk assessment studies to estimate which transmission pathways from the environment (indoor and outdoor) and/or animalsto humans are the most important to control in order to minimise the transfer of resistant organisms.
• Explore potential interventions and mitigation strategies, including new strategies, which minimise the emergence, transmission, and/or exposure risk of  esistance in clinical, veterinary, community and environmental settings in a cost-effective, sustainable way.

Il bando andrà a finanziare progetti transnazionali che coinvolgono almeno 3 soggetti provenienti da almeno tre stati partecipanti. Inoltre, è prevista una procedura di selezione a due step, con la prima scadenza per inviare le proprie proposte progettuali fissata al 21 marzo 2016.

Per quanto riguarda l'Italia, verranno finanziate proposte provenienti solo da Istituti di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico pubblici e privati (IRCCS). Inoltre, è richiesto una pre-valutazione sui criteri di eligibilità, da effettuare tramite un form da inviare al Ministero della Salute almeno 10 giorni prima della deadline del bando.
